As we near the close of this year and gear up for another, here are some basic things to keep in mind to help ensure a lower tax rate:

  1. Avoid an outstanding balance on your tax account
  2. Avoid any missing quarterly reports
  3. Avoid any of the above on your predecessor’s account

You can also track and file quarterly reports online through TaxWeb on the State of Alaska Department of Labor’s website: www.labor.alaska.gov

This is helpful even for businesses with only a few employees!

If the heavily convoluted and murky area of employer taxes seems daunting, The Alaska Small Business Development Center has a workshop today!
